This cute little pup is the epitomy of my Basset Hound "Maddie." She has been with me now for almost 9 years. We have seen alot of good times together and alot of well, times that only hound owners can appreciate. Seeing those long ears and sad eyes looking at me everyday reminds me of 'Eeyore' off of Winnie the Pooh. This is an original colored pencil and acrylic mixed media painting. An acrylic wash fills the blue background while the majority of detail in the hound is through use of colored pencil details. The very top layer of the painting has acrylic paint for highlighting the whiskers and white highlights through the eyes and fur.
This painting measures 9x12 and is on acid free heavy weight Strathmore paper. The painting is hand signed and dated and comes shipped with a protective sleeve and backing.
Once in a while I gotta take things over the edge just to be different. This is also a mixed media piece through the use of colored pencil and acrylic paint. These pair of Basset Hound puppies are all decked out in pink flare. They are here to support the cause in their utter femininity. Prints and accessory sales from the "Pretty in Pink" Bassets support the cause to fight Breast Cancer. We all need to be aware and they are here to remind us to check ourselves often so that we can have the upper hand in this fight against cancer.
