Floral photography is one of my favorite. Each flower spans so many colors and details into one plane that I could sit and stare at them for hours and still find something that I didn't see before. There are times when taking pictures of flowers that you find you have captured something else totally unexpected.

Raindrop Flower

Raindrop Flower

Photograph of a Canna Lily blossom after a rain shower.

This photo was taken after a summer rain fell and left her kisses all over this closed canna lily blossom. The dew drops are one of my most favorite subject to capture. When you look closely into them you can see a reflection of all that surrounds them like tiny looking glasses.

What Am I?

What Am I?

Photograph taken at the Tulsa Zoo.

I found this awesome flower while taking photographs at the Tulsa Zoo. It reminds me of a starburst. I would love to know what it is. The colors and details in the flower are so intesense and brilliant.

Moon Flower

Moon Flower

Photograph of a Moon Flower taken at night.

This photo was taken about 10:00 pm during the summer of 09 in Tulsa, Oklahoma off the banks of the Arkansas River. This is a unique flower that only blooms at night and stays closed during the day. I wanted to capture the subtle tones of this flower that are only highlighted by the light of the moon. No special lighting was used to capture this blossom. The fuzzy leaves and trumpet like blossom really fall in line with the fantasy style artwork that I so love. How many other flowers out there thrive in the darkness only to blossom in the middle of the night with no help from the sun?

About my Photography

All of the photography you see in my portfolio was taken with a Canon G9. It is one of the most powerful non DSLR cameras on the market that still offers the ability to have interchangeable lenses as well as a small powerhouse that can pack the punch of many DSLR's. I must admit that I never really was one of those people that like taking photos just for no reason. However, after a photography class I have really fallen in love with it. I have found a great hobby in taking photos and as part of my portfolio and artistic experiences that gives me the ability to capture images to later be used in my artwork. Some of these photos will become available as prints soon. Until then they remain a part of my experiences that I will never forget as they are a moment in time that I have had the honor of capturing.

My fiance and I enjoy going out and seeing new places and taking photographs. He has a passion for photography that surpasses my own and I will be dedicating a page on my site soon just to show off his work as well.
