How to Create Good Ground for Garden and Plants

The land of a garden is similar to a bank account: in the long run, you can not afford to withdraw more than what is deposited. Learn how to create good land for the garden and plants and know how to get the most out of your crops.

In order to have a good land of cultivation, it is fundamental that there is an efficient management of all the resources. Whenever a harvest of fruits, vegetables or flowers is performed, the soil of a garden must be fertilized and properly fertilized to be as well prepared as possible for future intervention. Organic modifications that are carried out on lands, such as the application of compost or root fertilizer, have many advantages: they allow rejuvenation of a poor soil, drainage of excess water, moistening of the roots and retention of nutrients until the roots need them. Before the spring plantings, know that it is necessary to enrich the soil of your garden that plants, flowers, and vegetables grow in a robust and healthy way. Keep in mind that the location of native trees and shrubs does not need to be changed unless the soil is sand or heavy clay.

A good land is one that presents a mixture of composting grass clippings, leaves, bits of wood resulting from tree pruning and simple soil. To create a perfect soil, you should use a gardening shovel and mix a layer of 5 to 10 cm of compost mix and a layer of 20 to 30 inches of plain soil.

If your garden has been subjected to forced labor on the surface, it will be necessary to improve the soil conditions or even put a new layer of soil before you start planting. If it is a large area, you will have to rent a tractor to help you prepare the land in your outer space. Otherwise, if the area of cultivation is small, just put hands to the work.

In a garden, the preparation of a plot is a mandatory maintenance task, and before certain plants are cultivated, the soil must be carefully checked, as in the following examples:

Acid plants: such as cranberries and rhododendrons. When cultivating acidic plants, you should know the pH levels of the soil. There are specific kits that show these results and are for sale in greenhouses or specialty garden stores. If the pH of your native soil is greater than 6, it is necessary to use peat moss to make the soil as fertile as possible.

Annual flowers and vegetable beds: Sometimes, when planting flowers or vegetables, it is necessary to put a stick or a cane to help them grow. In doing so, flowers and vegetables will be able to develop in a healthy and consistent manner.

Blackberries, raspberries and strawberries: The land of these fruit beds should be strengthened or renewed before the respective plantations begin. This is a procedure that must be done regularly (at least every two years) so that there are always quality fruits in your garden.

Lawns: A lawn has many difficulties in dealing with a heavy, sandy soil. As such, the soil of a lawn needs to be as fertilized as possible so that your green carpet is always in perfect conditions of use and presentation.
