Digital Painting of a Bengal Tiger.
A great Bengal Tiger portrait digital painting. Small layered brush strokes bring out the short coat on the face of this big cat. Careful use of color shows a sense of depth in his black and white coat. Rich colors layered in his eyes show the reflection of light in his iris and set off his intense gaze. Slight brown tones stoked throughout his coat add a sense of depth and give a realistic coloring as these cats are not just truly black and white. Small bright highlights of white on his coat help his image pop against the background and careful layering of brush strokes allow the coat to look realistic.
Creating a digital painting for me is much like creating a traditional painting without the need for paint, brushes and drying time. Each piece is created by using only traditional style brushes in Photoshop without any special effects or filters. My main concept behind creating a digital painting is to keep the exact same techniques as traditional painting without the mess. It also makes the piece more unique. Some of my digital pieces take days to complete and many many hours of layering colors and brush strokes. I truely love it.For those out there that think digital painting isn't fine art, I must say you are wrong. It takes as much dedication, hard work and special techniques to make it happen as traditional style painting.
